The Inner Circle membership and accreditation

Membership & Accreditation

Access Is Earned.

The Inner Circle does not have open enrollment. Membership is extended by invitation or application — and every applicant is evaluated against the same standards we hold the industry to.

Membership Tiers

Three Levels. One Standard.

Each tier reflects a different relationship with the Council — from emerging designers seeking accreditation to established institutions shaping governance.

The Accreditation Process

What Vetting Actually Looks Like.

Accreditation is not a rubber stamp. Every applicant goes through the same four-stage review — regardless of reputation, connections, or prior recognition.

01

Application & Portfolio Review

Submit your application, portfolio, and professional references. The Council's intake committee reviews for completeness and initial eligibility before advancing to formal review.

02

Standards Assessment

Your work is evaluated against the Inner Circle's published standards: craft quality, ethical sourcing practices, labor conduct, and professional integrity.

03

Governance Committee Review

The full governance committee votes on accreditation. A two-thirds majority is required. Applicants are notified of the outcome within 30 days of committee review.

04

Credential Issuance & Catalog Listing

Accredited members receive their credential, are listed in the Inner Circle designer catalog, and gain access to all member benefits and governance participation.
